I wonder if Tim second guesses his decision to step down from the Maple River boys program when he did. Obviously he misses coaching. Loyola got a good one.

Matt Cordes is leaving NL-S. He did a great job there, including 2 State Championships. It will be hard to fill those shoes.

Wow. That's interesting about Cordes. Is he going to be coaching somewhere else? Any details on why he is leaving NLS?

Cordes took a position as Campus Chaplain and Head of Christian Studies at Oak Grove Lutheran School in Fargo ND after completing Seminary this year. I am sure it wasn't an easy decision to leave coaching in New London-Spicer.

Thanks for the information. Congratulations to Mr. Cordes on his decision. He definitely was/is a good coach and did some great things at NLS. I wish him the best.

Interesting about Cordes. He coached all of their summer league stuff. Good thing that he kept the kids active and playing - that will only help them. It might have been more beneficial for a new coach to have been hired during the spring if he had known that this was a significant possibility in the near future. Best of luck to him and the Wildcats.

Its getting harder and harder to find people willing to coach let alone finding a good quality coach. Its so much to invest on a job that doesnt pay all that well and you have to deal with all the of court issues that coaches get to deal with. I give credit to anyone willing to coach these days and salute the ones good at what they do.

Reading the Pioneer Press article on Richfield's coaching job its just another black eye to those who may want to be a coach in the future. Why stick your neck out if nothing is going to be good enough.
