I'm quite certain the "Rose Bowl" rule goes into effect only if head-to-head was split. PI swept Goodhue and so would play in title game if both end with 2 losses (which is how it currently sits after ZM's 5 OT over PI!!)
PI would have to lose to either Triton or at Lake City (4th game of the week!) AND Goodhue beats ZM Sat for Goodhue to go.

If PI just got beat by 30 at Kenyon and now lost to a bad/mediocre ZM team....I don't see how PI is going to win in Lake City this Friday.

I expect them to beat Triton and likely lose to both Chatfield & Lake City on Thurs. & Friday based on the terrible play of late. 5 overtimes and both teams combined to score 12 points in 5 OT's? WOW!

Went to PI vs. Chatfield last night...

PI won by 1 pt, hitting a bucket to go up 1 with 5 seconds left. Chatfield drove the length of the floor and hit a 3 in the corner, the refs said it was after the clock expired. It was super close, but my best guess was the shot went up before the clock stopped. Either way, it was a great game.

Finstuen hit 1,000 points tonight for PI.

I saw the play too, gopherrube. I'm not sure how Chatfield could go the distance at average speed, make 4 passes, and shoot it, but I don't remember hearing the buzzer. I got caught up watching the ball. It was fun to see PI play 12 different girls and let some starters rest a little during their 4-game week.

Some fun games tonight in the HVL:
PI at Lake City
Lourdes at Kenyon-Wanamingo
Byron at Waseca

Also some games with interesting Section 1AA seeding implications. Caledonia, Kingsland, Dover-Eyota and P-E-M all play. I may see P-E-M vs. Southland tonight.

Tomorrow Z-M gets a shot at Goodhue and K-M travels to Faribault for a section game. Good luck to the HVL teams playing out-of conference games!

HVL Title game comes down to Pine Island and Hayfield. PI always seems to find a way to dig it out and play to the end. Hayfield has proven they can win big games too. Should be a defensive battle! I am going with an upset and picking Hayfield by 3!
